Job description For our customer, ESAESTEC, we are seeking an experienced Product Assurance Safety Engineer to work at ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to the Quality Assurance and Management Section TECQQM within the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management. The task involves supporting the quality assurance activities related to the phase DE of the Project and associated reviews that occur during these phases. In particular, this will involve participation to the manufacturing, integration and test activities, e.g. manufacturing readiness reviews MRR, mandatory inspection points MIPs, test readiness reviews TRRs, post test reviews PTRs It will involve extensive traveling within Europe. It is expected 90 collocated with the spacecraft. The main integration site is Airbus DS Ltd. in Stevenage with additional tests at environmental test facilities within Europe and potentially Launch campaign activities at CSG, French Guyana. You will support the PAS Manager to ensure the effective implementation and execution of the nonconformance identification and reporting mechanisms within the contractor supply chain and confirm the correct and formal closure of nonconformances support the Solar Orbiter Product Assurance Safety PAS Manager in all activities related to the execution of the Product Assurance Program for the Solar Orbiter Project deputise for the PAS Manager as required support the Risk Management and Configuration Management processes within the Project, including the disposition of Request for Deviations and Request for Waivers RFDs RFWs Assist the PAS Manager in ensuring that all formally delivered items within the Project supply chain conform with requirements using formal acceptance reviews Delivery Review Boards DRBs Produce reports on project and review activities, including conclusions and recommendations where necessary, participating in progress meetings when needed and reporting on project PA status. This is a full time located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The requested start of work is March 2018. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate will have A Masters level degree in an engineering discipline or the technical sciences. A minimum of 10 years experience in the space sector include 5 years in Product and Quality Assurance. Good knowledge of the applicable space standards ECSS. Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001 would be an asset. Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree of organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment.
