For our activities in Germany, we are looking for a person to provide Quality Assurance for Essential Climate Variables Consultancy Support. TASKS Generation of data records Analysis of the data record quality employing quality monitoring procedures and other validation techniques and data as appropriate Acquisition of relevant data from internal and external sources to support product quality monitoring Support implementation, processing and validation of the product with other international partners e.g. JMA, NOAANCDC Preparation of QA4ECV data for ingestion into the EUMETSAT Data Centre Compilation of relevant data set documentation including validation reports, user guides and format descriptions Compilation of project result presentations and participation in project progress meetings. REQUIRED University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Strong technical skills with a minimum of 1 year experience in the implementation of software for delayed mode processing of satellite data Programming languages CC andor FORTRAN Working in unixlinux environment Scripting languages, such as Python, Perl, shell Analysis and graphic software such as IDL Data formats such as NetCDF4, GRIB, HDF5, and BUFR Processing and monitoring of large volume of remote sensing data Validation of satellite products Able to work effectively in English and have knowledge of French Good communication and presentation skills Able to conduct all activities in an orderly and structured manner, able to work calmly and correctly and with the minimum of supervision EU national or valid work permit for Germany CV in Europass format Distinct advantage Operational product processing environments Data bases such as MySQL and Oracle EUMETSAT Meteosat missions and instruments Retrieval of parameters using visible wave lengths Calibration of satellite observations in the visible spectral range

The key person is required to have strong experience with the following mandatory skills Programming languages CC andor FORTRAN Working in unixlinux environment Scripting languages, such as Python, Perl, shell Analysis and graphic software such as IDL Data formats such as NetCDF4, GRIB, HDF5, and BUFR. Furthermore, the key person shall have knowledge in the following areas Processing and monitoring of large volume of remote sensing data Validation of satellite products. Knowledge in the following areas would be an advantage Operational product processing environments Data bases such as MySQL and Oracle EUMETSAT Meteosat missions and instruments Retrieval of parameters using visible wave lengths Calibration of satellite observations in the visible spectral range. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Engineer must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. Key Product Assurance Responsibilities and Tasks Establish the PA Plan for assigned projects and assure implementation Ensuring Product Assurance requirements are met within the projects Representing Product Assurance at product lifecycle reviews Liaising with Customers, Prime Contractors andor the European Space Agency ESA on qualityproduct assurance issues. Providing support within projects and bids to deliver product assurance documentation Managing the customer approval process for Materials, Processes Ensuring product configuration documentation is updated at key milestones Chairing internal and external non conformance review meetings Participating in Design, Manufacturing ,Test and Delivery Readiness reviews Supporting the Technical Lead to ensure that Technical Problem Reports are resolved and the solutions are adequately documented and implemented. Product certification Inspect and acceptreject the products to enable certification to the Customer requirements. Skills, qualifications and experience Essential Degree or higher education qualification in an Engineering or QA discipline and have experience of quality or product assurance in a similar industry Ability to work independently and be able to communicate professionally with customers, prime contractors and the European Space Agency Knowledge and experience of productquality assurance systems Strong communication skills and ability to liaise clearly across disciplines Knowledge of electronic components and circuit board assembly processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential Working knowledge of Quality Standards e.g ISO 9001, EN 9100, AQAP 2110, Basic knowledge on Reliability, Materials, Processes Desirable Knowledge of European Space Standards ECSS would be advantageous Experience of working in the Space, Defense or Aerospace industries
