Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking a Software Product Assurance Engineer to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to the Software Product Assurance Section within the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management. You will provide support to ESA projects typically Space Science, Earth Observation, Satellite Navigation, Launcher, or Human Spaceflight projects and related technology developments in the areas of monitoring assessing the implementation of ESAs Software PA Safety Programme. This includes support to any or all of the following activities Contribute to establishing of the programmatic and technical software PA requirements within the framework of the ESA Software policy. Evaluate industrial Contractors plans, technical specifications and efforts proposed for the execution of the SW PA programme. Monitor and evaluate SW PA analyses, reports and technical notes. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have Masters degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science. At least 4 years of relevant professional working experience with a background in software engineering and including several years in a ProductQuality Assurance role. Knowledge and proven experience in the following areas Configuration management of complex systems. Software engineering and PA in critical applications. Practical experience in applying formal SW standards such as ECSSEST40. Familiarity with space product assurance practices together with a good working knowledge of appropriate working tools would be useful. Relevant experience in the space sector and an understanding of space systems engineering concepts is a distinct advantage. Experience in one or more of the following specific areas is highly desirable Agile practices e.g. Scrum Master Product Owner other Agile frameworks as SAFE, Lean or Kanban.
