Data Processing Systems and Applications Engineer 1513071 Job Description We are looking for a Data Processing Engineer to support our client EUMETSAT at their headquarters. Your core tasks shall be to support the maintenance and evolution of the facilities and systems in one of the following areas Support to EPS level 0 and MSG level 0, 1 1.5 data processing EPS FEP PGF and MSG IMPF IDRS, and SARAL mission Ground Segment Support to EPS level 1 2 and MSG level 2 data processing EPS PPFs and MSG MPEF Support to JASON Ground Segments. Your duties will include a range of tasks, from the support of the day to day operations and maintenance, to the handling of anomalies, upgrades and configuration changes for these facilities. For procurements and maintenance services provided externally, you shall provide support to the management of the technical interface with the external contractors. Besides the above described routine tasks, you will also be expected to contribute to requirements specification, design and system engineeringreengineering, development and testing activities in the field of science data processing that will become necessary for existing and future production systems. In support to operations,you may also be required to provide on call support during special activities for limited periods of time e.g. short periods during spacecraft commissioninglaunch phases as part of a team of maintenance engineers. The Key Persons duties will include a range of tasks, from the support of the day to day operation and maintenance, the analysis, design, development and testing of the facilities which also includes the handling of anomalies, upgrades and configuration changes for these facilities. The Key Person will be the focal point when it comes to integrating each individual Facility into a system context, covering all aspects from early SW development, definition of interfaces, system integration and testing, and end to end testing of the production system. Tasks will also contain the settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures as well as the coordination with external providers of maintenance services. In support to operations, the Key Person may also be required to provide on call support as part of a team of maintenance engineers. Besides the above described routine tasks, the Key Person will also be expected to contribute to design and system engineeringreengineering activities in the area of expertise for existing and future production systems. Candidate areas are programmes such as, MTG, EPSSG, Jason, Saral, EARS, Sentinel 3, etc. Typically tasks will include 1. Contribute to the definition, design, implementation and maintenance of architectures for data processing ground segments and their components with special emphasis on product quality control, calibration and validation, production monitoring and reporting. This task will mainly include 1.1. Maintenance and development of the QCF and CVF framework software 1.2. Configuration Management, building and distribution of QCFCVF software releases and patches 1.3. Contribution to QCFCVF software system design and reengineering 1.4. Support to the development and implementation of QCF and CVF tools e.g. in IDLCCFortran 2. Support the operations of existing data processing ground segments and their maintenance and evolution e.g. QCF and CVF. This will also include Upgrade software, including implementing and maintaining new algorithms for product quality control and calibrationvalidation activities. 3. Perform routine tasks in operational systems under configuration control such as 3.1. Support the Configuration Management process and the building and distribution of software releases and patches 3.2. Support to the development, integration and configuration management of software developed by third parties, its installation, and configuration and testing 3.3. Anomaly investigations, documentation and classification. 3.4. Follow up of the delivery of SW resolutions for these anomalies 4. Perform standard SW engineering activities such as 4.1. SW testing in a structured approach to verify that delivered SW is fulfilling the requirements or to demonstrate that problems have been corrected. 4.2. SW integration and verification in the EUMETSAT ground segments 5. Settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures, 6. Support to the procurement and installation of software, and the coordination with external providers of support services 7.
