The University of Kentucky is building a water detention system to alleviate flooding in an area where two women drowned after they were sucked into a storm drain nearly eight years ago. As part of the $12 million project, UK is removing a parking lot located at the entrance of an apartment complex and replacing it with a new lot that will be built on top of a water detention basin, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader. read more
