The Bluetooth Special Interest Group granted specification 4.1 qualification to the company's link layer component, BLE protocol stack and radio frequency physical layer used in the PSoC 4 BLE Programmable SoC and PRoC BLE programmable radio-on-chip solutions. Also, the solutions' chip-scale packages and quad-flat no-lead packages achieved Bluetooth 4.1 qualification, Cypress added.

IC achieves peak power consumption of 5.9 mA for Bluetooth and 600 µA or lower for NFC Tags. Crusty I see no reason why the bluetooth connectivity should not work with IPad Well there is possibly an issue if you are writing your own app. Some Bluetooth apps require an Apple supplied chip connected to the remote side to verify that the whole device is iOS compliant.

Now, I want to choose the Wifi as the first option of course.
