One of the greatest joys of being a technologist is that I get to see, often first-hand, some of humanity's most novel ideas. Case in point: One enterprising hacker has taken a TRS-80 -- one of the first mass-produced personal computers -- and given it the ability to stream an episode of Doctor Who from a stack of five-and-a-quarter-inch floppy disks.

Intel Corp. will reorganize its mobile computing business by merging mobile phone and tablet operations with its more successful PC chip unit. Bloomberg reported that the move is expected to be completed sometime next year.

Wasteland 2 is a wonderful post-apocalyptic classic RPG romp through the radioactive dunes of Arizona and California. The game is unabashedly old school with its lack of hand-holding and harsh scenarios.
