Air Force vet pleads not guilty to federal terrorism charges

A U.S. Air Force veteran and former airplane mechanic charged with attempting to join the Islamic State group in Syria pleaded not guilty Wednesday to terrorism charges. A bearded Tairod Nathan Webster Pugh, wearing prison-issued khaki pants and a blue short-sleeved shirt, repeated his full name when asked but said nothing else before Judge Nicholas Garaufis in a New York federal courthouse.

CEO Of Summit County Real Estate Group Pleads Guilty To Theft

The Summit County district attorney says a woman has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $400,000 from a local real estate agents' association she had led for nearly two decades. A statement Monday from District Attorney Bruce Brown's office added Sue Frank, the former chief executive officer of the Summit Association of Realtors, is scheduled to be sentenced May 19. She faces up to seven years in jail for felony theft.

4 Serra Nissan employees plead guilty to loan fraud conspiracy

Four former Serra Nissan employees charged in connection with a conspiracy at the Birmingham car dealership to fraudulently boost loan approvals and car sales pleaded guilty last Wednesday in federal court, announced U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance, IRS Criminal Investigation Special Agent in Charge Veronica Hyman-Pillot and FBI Special Agent in Charge Roger C. Stanton. D. Scott Burton, 36, of Odenville; Michael J. Wilkinson, 56, of Moody; Terry W. Henderson, 39, of Pleasant Grove; and Roland W. Riley, 28, of Birmingham; entered their pleas before U.S. District Judge Virginia Emerson Hopkins.

Florence jury finds man guilty of money laundering for bogus lottery scheme

A 36-year-old man was found guilty by a federal jury in a Florence County court of conspiracy to commit money laundering for wiring proceeds from a bogus lottery fraud. Woody Graham was wiring the proceeds to Jamaica on behalf of the group running the bogus lottery scheme that targeted elderly victims around the country, according to the office of the United States Attorney.

Manufacturer Of Tylenol Pleads Guilty To Selling Liquid Medicine...

McNeil Consumer Healthcare, the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary that makes Tylenol, filed a guilty plea to a federal district court in Philadelphia of selling liquid medicine contaminated with metal. The drug maker also agreed to pay a fine of $25 million to the US Department of Justice for selling adulterated medication for children and infants.
