AutoNation Inc., the largest auto retailer in the U.S., has been the worst performer during 2016 among the S&P 500 through Wednesday, with shares down 14.9%. Even before the turmoil early Thursday, when a brutal selloff in China set up another beating for Western markets, there were 15 S&P 500 stocks showing declines of at least 10% for 2016.
