ResponsibilitiesDuties The Engineer will be part of the TPZVD IT Support Team in the delivery of IT services to the client. The work shall include Building, packaging and installations of software solutions IT engineering service Interface to COTS support and maintenance providers Routine system administration service Enduser initiated changes Support for critical operations or special installations Support to inventory activities QualificationsExperience A university degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent. Proven experience in IT Linux and software build. The successful candidate will have strong goaloriented and planning capabilities, coupled with very good problemsolving skills and a pronounced customer focus. Applicants should have strong communication and collaboration skills, be able to work in a diverse team environment and accomplish goals in line with team objectives. Experience operating critical IT infrastructure environments, working in mixed operating system environments, managing technical service transition, creation and maintenance of support documentation. Interesting to learn and dealing with modern technologies. Essential Skills Software configuration management principles Essential knowledge and experience in using UnixLinux command line tools Work experience with automated OS installation solutions like AutoYast, Kickstart, Orcharhino and also with unattendedcentralized software installation like PXETFTP Experience with software automation, provisioning, configuration management and deployment tools like Ansible Experience with software build environment and tools like Ant, Maven, autoconfautomake, make Source Code Management SVN,GIT, CVS, ClearCase Familiar with software packaging formats like RPM,PKG,LPP,tgz Programmingscripting experience Python, Perl,bash,ksh,csh Expert knowledge and a significant work experience of Linux and Unix operating systems CCJava to the extent to be able to support software developers Networking, distributed applications knowledge, and TCPIP Change Management processes Good understanding of incident and problem management Administration and troubleshooting of distributed systems Good IT system design skills Good experience in VMware virtualization Good knowledge and experience in security principlesconcepts, hardening techniques, secure architecture and protocols, penetration and vulnerability testing, tools Technical documentation skills Experience in an operational or production environment, characterized by custom applications in addition to standard software, running both on the client and server side, and by high availability requirements Ability to manage assigned activitiestasks accountability and respect for deadlines Good Troubleshooting skills of Incidents and Problems providing when necessary root cause analysis Desired Skills Experience in some of the following shall be considered an advantage Knowledge in Container technologies Docker Serena Dimensions CM Basic Windows System Administration MySQL or MariaDB databases Formalised Software Testing TCPIP and related network protocols and applications, e.g. NIS, LDAP, NFS, DNS, SNMP, FTP, NTP, etc. High Availability software like RedHat HA AddOn, Veritas Cluster or any other.
