BusinessGreen: 2014 was the England's hottest year since records began over 350 years ago, according to provisional Met Office figures.
Last year was the warmest year ever record in the Central England Temperature (CET) series, which dates back to 1659 and is the world's longest running instrumental temperature series. It was also the UK's warmest and fourth wettest year in records dating back to 1910.
