This post is classified in the A2A4 grade band of the Coordinated Organisations salary scale. LOCATION ESTEC, Noordwijk The Netherlands. DUTIES The GMES Sentinel5 instrument is an element within the Agencys Global Monitoring for Environment and Security GMESCopernicus Space Components CSC Programme. It will be embarked on MetopSG satellite A, which is being developed under ESAs Metop Second Generation programme. The postholder will report to the Sentinel5 System Engineering Manager. Duties include responsibility for all AIV activities aimed at the timely definition, development, implementation, verification and qualification of the design and timely calibration of the Sentinel5 instrument, consistent with GMES Copernicus mission requirements, system interfaces and the technicalprogrammatic constraints of MetopSG satellite development. Responsibilities will notably include ensuring a lowrisk, lowcost and timeefficient AIV programme resulting in timely delivery of a fullyverified and qualified instrument reviewing and controlling the instrument AIV plans and schedule at system subsystem level and assessing their robustness, completeness, coherence and realism to ensure timely delivery of a fullyverified, validated and qualified instrument reviewing and controlling the instrument calibration plans and schedule at systemsubsystem level, in coordination with the Instrument Performance Engineer, ensuring timely delivery of a fullycalibrated instrument providing early warning of potential problem areas and ensuring that appropriate mitigation actions are identified and implemented. Estimating, at every stage of programme execution, the risks and benefits associated with any proposed deviation from the original nominal verification plan controlling and coordinating all Assembly, Integration, Verification and qualification issues at instrument and subsystem level, ensuring that a consistent approach to AIVAIT implementation is applied throughout the industrial consortium ensuring the industrial plans for integration, testing, facilities and associated ground support equipment GSE are fully consistent with technical and programmatic needs supporting the procurement process for all GSE elements and test facilities, including the review of procurement documentation, tender evaluation and participation in industrial negotiations, as required by ESAs Code of Best Practices supporting the procurement process for all GSE and test facilities required for instrument calibration, in coordination with the Instrument Performance Engineer maintaining close coordination with the MetopSG project to ensure a coherent and acceptable approach to AIT activities ensuring timely availability of industrial longterm storage plans and implementation of specific storage requirements and constraints coordinating with the Sentinel5 Product Assurance Safety Engineer for monitoring major tests and timely processing of NCR reports as appropriate supporting the Instrument System Engineering Manager in organising and conducting Sentinel5 system instrument reviews, in coordination with the Prime Contractor and relevant stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering field, together with extensive experience of defining and implementing AIV activities. Candidates shall have good practical and analytical skills as well as a demonstrated ability to work within a complex and highly interactive programme structure. They are expected to demonstrate good organisational skills and resourcefulness. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of another member state language is an asset.
