Gap CEO Glenn Murphy is to step down in February, making way for digital head Art Peck to take the helm at the US retail giant. The company's shares fell 8% in after-hours trading on the news. Indeed, while Murphy may have struggled to turnaround Gap's namesake brand during his tenure, he is credited with reversing a long-running sales slump, acquiring new brands and globalising the business.
