AT&T launches Amazon Fire smartphone

(Telecompaper) AT&T and Amazon have announced the arrival of Fire, Amazon's first smartphone, available for purchase at AT&T stores and online. Fire with 32GB is available for USD 27.09 per month on AT&T Next 18 or USD 199 with a two-year contract. The 64GB version is USD 31.25 per month with AT&T Next 18 or USD 299 with a two-year contract. For a limited time, Fire includes a full year of Amazon Prime and 1,000 Amazon Coins (a USD 10 value) to use on apps, games and in-app purchases. Current Prime members will have their membership extended for an additional twelve months. The Fire smartphone includes new technologies, Dynamic Perspective and Firefly and comes equipped with Mayday, Second Screen and X Ray features.
