AT&T spends $1.6 billion on its networks to fight Google, competitiors in N.C.

AT&T announced Tuesday that it had invested more than $1.6 billion over three years to enhance local networks in the state. From 2012 to 2014, the company made multiple network enhancement efforts, such as the more than 400 network upgrades in 2014 alone.
