Location ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands Description Access Control Engineer in the Galileo System Security Unit in the Galileo Security Office, Navigation Security Office, Directorate of Navigation. Duties The holder of this post will report to the Head of the Galileo System Security unit within the Galileo Security Office. HeShe will be in charge of maintaining the requirements of Galileo PRS Public Regulated Services Access Control at system and segment levels as well as the associated interface control documents. maintaining the Access Control functional chain within the system design definition file logical and physical, participating in segment design reviews to ensure proper design of the PRS Access Control functions in line with system expectation, following the development and qualification of the segment level access control functions this includes following the segment design reviews and actively participating in the corresponding qualification campaigns reviewing the segment test plans, close followup of segment tests with respect to the PRS Access Control functionality, test witnessing and qualification credit reviews ensuring that the PRS access control functions are also qualified at system level, by supporting system integration and verification activities, helping in the definition of system testing with respect to the PRS Access Control and following up system tests test witnessing, and participation in TRRs, TRBs following up system and segment anomalies related to PRS Access Control regular reporting to the Head of Unit Technical competencies System engineering principles, processes and standards Industrial development, verification and procurement processes Information technology security and in particular broadcast encryption systems Satellite systems and ground segment architecture Design, development, deployment and testing of complex secure systems Behavioural competencies Communication Problem Solving Results Orientation Teamwork Education Engineering degree Master level Additional requirements Applicants should have a good background in satellite navigation, signals and security engineering applied to space systems with substantial experience in projects development phases. Knowledge of satellite systems is also a prerequisite. The incumbent will work inside the Galileo Security Office which is in charge of all the securityrelated activities for Galileo and Galileo Second Generation projects, thereofre previous involvement in system security engineering design, development, verification for complex systems, preferably satellitebased will be considered an asset. Candidates are expected to be able to set priorities and identify practical solutions. They should be able to work autonomously as well as in a team environment. They should have good organisational and communication skills, a proactive attitude to problemsolving and an interest in innovative technologies. Applicants must be eligible for security clearance by their national security administration. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset. The Agency may require applicants to undergo selection tests.
