Active Power sees a jolt in business after changing sales tactics

The Austin company, which develops tech-based backup power systems, has shifted its sales team from depending on partners in a sales channel to a more direct sales model with more specialized workers who are technically trained. The difference is important when marketing Active Power's complex products, CEO Mark Ascolese said Thursday.
