Advisory firms back activist's efforts to take over Ethan Allen's board

Two independent advisory firms are recommending that Ethan Allen shareholders vote in favor of board candidates nominted by activist investor Sandell Asset Management during the annual meeting later this month. Sandell, a Manhattan based hedge fund, has been waging a proxy war for months against Ethan Allen Interiors claiming the locally based furniture company hasn't kept up with the competition and needs to provide more return to shareholders.
