We are currently looking for an Aerosol Product Development Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Aerosol Product Development Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. In this role you will have the following responsibilities Development of algorithms for aerosol products for Metop Evaluation and refinement of aerosol algorithms for the MSG SEVIRI instrument Development of prototype software of testing and validation of algorithms Generation of test data for the verification of the algorithm and products Validation of the products produced by the prototype software Documentation of test data descriptions, Algorithm Theoretical Basis Documents ATBD, Product User Guides, Calibration and Validation Plan, Validation reports Support to the implementation and validation of the operational products Collaboration with expert groups and the wider scientific community Algorithm development and prototype software for future polar orbiting missions. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Remote sensing system development including aerosol products, e.g. EPSMSG Aerosol optical properties retrieval from satellite data Inverse modelling of atmospheric composition using radiative transfer models Calibration and validation of satellite data products Specification, design and coding of complex product processors Software development tools, make, imake eclipse, insure, CVS, Subversion Testing and verification of complex data processing systems Quality control of satellite data and products would be an asset Fluency in English is mandatory.
