After Cypress merger, layoffs coming at Austin semiconductor factory

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. will lay off workers at an Austin flash-memory factory owned by California-based Spansion Inc, reports the Austin American-Statesman. The layoffs in Austin - which, according to Cypress' CEO, would be in the "low double digits" - would be a small part of larger job cuts at the newly combined companies.
