(Telecompaper) Alcatel-Lucent launched a new residential gateway supporting the G.fast standard for faster broadband over copper networks. One of the benefits of G.fast is simple self-installation of the gateway, without the need for operators to send a technician. The gateway supports speeds of up to 750 Mbps, as well as dual-band Wi-Fi. It also comes with an integrated reverse power feed that powers the remote G.fast distribution point unit. This means operators no longer need to connect the distribution points locally to the power grid. The 7368 ISAM CPE can be deployed with VDSL2 networking today and upgraded later without having to switch out the device. It's compatible with Alcatel-Lucent G.fast DPUs, DSL line cards and G.fast standard-compliant DPUs.
