Allergan: Talks may lead to merger

Allergan Inc., the Irvine-based Botox maker seeking to fend off a hostile takeover by Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, said Thursday it's in talks with another company that may lead to merger negotiations. News reports have identified the other company as Actavis Inc., which makes generic drugs and products like the Alzheimer's treatment Namenda.
