(Telecompaper) Amazon has announced the launch of the latest tablet in its Fire range, promising faster performance together with access to the company's new voice-based assistant, Alexa. The Fire HD 8 has an 8-inch HD display, quad-core processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, stereo speakers with Dolby Audio, rear- and front-facing cameras as well as a claimed 12 hours of battery life (4,750 mAh). The USD 89.99 device comes with 16 GB of storage plus support for up to 200 GB more via a microSD card and runs Fire OS 5, the latest version of Amazon's Android-based, content focused mobile OS.
