America Movil Q2 results improve, service revenue up 8%

(Telecompaper) America Movil reported improved results for the second quarter, with revenues up 6.9 percent year-on-year to MXN 250 billion. Service revenues rose 8.1 percent and were up 4.2 percent on at constant exchange rates, its best performance in ten quarters. The growth was led by mobile data services, which grew revenues 21.8 percent. EBITDA increased 13.7 percent year-on-year to MXN 69.4 billion and rose 10.4 percent at constant exchange rates. The company said all operations posted sequential increases in EBITDA, with very significant moves in Peru, Chile, Argentina, Europe, Mexico and Colombia. The EBITDA margin stood at 27.8 percent, up 0.7 percentage points from the prior quarter and up 1.7 percentage points from a year earlier.
