American Airlines asks feds to reallocate Delta's flight to Tokyo's Haneda Airport

American Airlines Group is asking the U.S. Department of Transportation to withdraw Delta Air Lines' right to fly daily flights between Seattle and Haneda Airport in Tokyo and instead allow American to operate a flight to Haneda from Los Angeles. The Wall Street Journal reports American Airlines claimed in a filing Thursday that Delta planned to use the Seattle-Haneda route only 17 times between now and the end of March instead of a possible 182 days, and that American would offer daily year-round service between Los Angeles and Haneda if given the route.
