American Apparel enters deal to avoid board battle

American Apparel Inc. said it has entered an agreement with Jeffrey Kolb , a shareholder and ally of ousted Chief Executive Dov Charney , that will avoid a battle over nominees to its board. The Los Angeles-based retailer said in a regulatory filing Monday that Kolb, a former employee who has a small percentage of shares, has agreed to withdraw his two nominees to the board.
