Rhode Island Project Underway
Deepwater Wind has begun constructing the foundation for America’s first offshore wind generation project.
The developer this summer started deploying foundation components for the 20-megawatt Block Island Wind Farm, three miles off the coast of Rhode Island.
Offshore wind generation has been slow to develop in the United States compared to Europe. Opponents here have objected to such developments as visual blights.
