Amkor Technology Inc. reported increased sales and income in its first quarter due to strong demand for its products, particularly mobile devices that make up more than half its business. The Tempe-based semiconductor packaging and testing services business reported net income of $29 million, or 12 cents per share, on revenue of $743 million for the first quarter ended March 31. This compares with net income of $21 million, or 9 cents per share, on revenue of $696 million, from the first quarter of 2014.
