A month after telling shoppers it was " embarrassed and truly sorry " after an undeclared allergen was detected in selected boxes of gluten-free Cheerios, General Mills has been hit with a class action lawsuit alleging it violated several consumer protection laws and put consumers at risk. In a complaint* filed in the eastern district of California on October 30 by plaintiffs Keri van Lengen and Deborah Nava against General Mills and Roxanne Ornelas , General Mills is accused of selling misbranded products .
