AvalonBay plans Manhattan residential tower

Arlington-based AvalonBay Communities Inc. has acquired a development site in the Upper West Side of Manhattan and plans to build a residential tower with ground-level retail. AvalonBay acquired the site, 1865 Broadway, from the American Bible Society for $300 million.
