(Telecompaper) All of the BBC's websites were unavailable for several hours on 31 December after a distributed denial of service attack by a group calling itself New World Hacking, reports BBC News. The problems began around 07:00 GMT and hit the main BBC websites along with the iPlayer catch-up TV service and the iPlayer Radio app. The BBC said at 12:00 that its websites were operating normally and apologised for the inconvenience.
