Backlash at doubling of ex-MPs' travel perks

The calculation of how much taxpayer money former MPs are entitled to spend on international travel will change under a statute amendment bill, to be voted on next week. Currently, the perk is calculated on the cheapest business-class return fare between Auckland and London, for the former MP and their spouse.
