Ben Sherman sold to American private equity-backed firm Marquee Brands for A 40m

Ben Sherman, the British fashion brand founded in 1963, has been sold by American private equity firm Oxford Industries for A 40million - half the price it paid to buy the business in 2004. Another American firm, Marquee Brands, was set up last year backed by private equity firm Neuberger Berman, to acquire brands and already bought Italian shoe-maker Bruno Magli.
