(Telecompaper) Best Buy has announced the launch of its in-home disc-to-digital conversion service. Powered by Best Buy's video streaming service, CinemaNow, and currently in beta, the service allows consumers to put UltraViolet copies of DVD titles in the cloud, giving them access to their DVD collections from any compatible internet-connected device. Best Buy partnered with Warner Bros Entertainment, Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Lionsgate to develop the in-home disc-to-digital conversion service. Consumers can convert SD movies for USD 2 or HD movies for USD 5 and the movie will be added to the users UltraViolet digital library.
