Entertainment giant Activision Blizzard, Inc. and airline holding company United Continental Holdings Inc are the latest companies to join the S&P 500, and the coup is already paying dividends for both stocks, each of which is up by more than 5% in today's trading session. The updates to the S&P 500 indice are in response to the acquisition of Pall Corporation and Hospira, Inc. by Danaher Corporation and Pfizer Inc. respectively.
