CSX Transportation has agreed to donate 130 acres of undeveloped land to the September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance to help it build a 7-mile portion of an off-road trail from the Great Allegheny Passage in Garrett to the Flight 93 Memorial in Stonycreek near Shanksville, Pa. The alliance, a not-for-profit organization, was formed in 2004 to establish a 1,300-mile on- and off-road trail to link the memorial sites of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the Flight 93 National Memorial in Somerset County.
