Boeing begins final assembly on 787-9 Dreamliner in North Charleston

Boeing's local operation began final assembly on the 787-9 over the weekend, a milestone for a program beset with setbacks on the smaller model 787-8 earlier this year. The Chicago-based aircraft maker started joining fuselage sections of the larger passenger jet Saturday, "another sign of stability for the program," Boeing said in a statement.
