(Telecompaper) French conglomerate Bouygues has repeated that Bouygues Telecom is not for sale, following a Wall Street Journal interview by Iliad (Free) founder Xavier Niel concerning his ambitions in France in light of his company's USD 15 million bid for 56.6 percent of T-Mobile US. Bouygues writes, "Further to recent statements in the press, Bouygues reiterates that Bouygues Telecom is continuing the implementation of its transformation plan announced on 11 June 2014 aimed at securing an independent future. In addition, the Group has not received to date any takeover bids for its subsidiary Bouygues Telecom." Niel had told the Wall Street Journal, "In France, we could still buy little bits of Bouygues Telecom if Orange decides to renegotiate. But everything depends on the price that Bouygues would sell. We are not bothered by staying in a market with four mobile players."
