Brown Shoe Sales Trip Over Pacific Import Slowdown

The parent of more than 1,000 Famous Footwear, Naturalizer and other shoe stores reported a 29% jump in Q4 earnings per share minus one-time items, to 20 cents, beating estimates by 4 cents. Sales at stores open at least a year were up 4%, with performance driven by continued improvement in the athletic and boots categories.
