About The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Science Technology Facilities Council STFC Business and Innovations Directorate. This role is focused on RAL Space Business Development activities and will report into the RAL Space Head of Business Development. The role requires an ability to capture and manage a pipeline of opportunities and support the development of new proposals within RAL Space by producing high quality content for identified bids. It requires the excellent management of internal and external relationships with scientists, engineers and senior managers across academia and industry. The purpose of this role is to join an effective and well developed team of business development professionals with a large portfolio of existing strategic opportunities support opportunities through all stages of development, the approval process and completion to final contract build excellent working relationships both internally and externally organise, create and prepare content for bids in a proper and logical sequence taking into account the particular requirements for a given proposal and the appropriate department processes liaise with the RAL Space communications team to ensure publicity materials are created and updated attend relevant events nationally and occasionally internationally, capturing new leads and opportunities and introducing new customers to the breadth of STFC RAL Spaces offering. maintain STFC expectations of high technical and format accuracy. About You You will have gained experience in a technical environment. You will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to deal with customers, partners, suppliers and other parts of the organisation. It is essential that you have experience of coordinating successful space proposals. A PhD in in physical science discipline is desirable as well as further education in business related subjects e.g. MBA, project management qualifications e.g. APMP, Prince 2 andor membership of a relevant professional institution.
