Description The CDF is a system engineering lab under the responsibility of the Head of the Systems and Concurrent Engineering Section TECSYE at ESTEC. The main technologies supported by the current CDF IT infrastructure include in priorityoperational criticality order Hyperv virtualization, Virtual storage appliances Citrix XenApp, Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services, Sharepoint Additionally the facility features a number of integrated IT and audio visual solutions and equipment. The facility is normally utilised to perform concurrent design activities supporting several engineering multidisciplinary teams and a variety of internal and external customers. Specific tasks Management and administration of the CDF informatics infrastructure resources, including hw, sw, multimedia, and communication devices user access, configuration, etc.. Preparation and support of all CDF interdisciplinary activities. Maintenance and upgrade of CDF HW and operating systems. Design and implementation of test platforms to deliver technologies used for informationproviding and operations of the CDF. Provision of security, backup and configuration management support to the local and remote facilities, located in other design centres. Preparation and maintenance of databases and archives for exchanging data during design studies, retrieval of data from previous studies, and so on. Provision of first line technical support for the application development platforms and tools used within the CDF. Proactive contribution to the enhancement of the facility infrastructure, performance, and applications including identification, prototyping, procurement and installation of new hw and sw tools, multimedia and communication devices. Support to other informatics tasks within TECSYE. Task for maintenance, upgrading and procurement, representing a combination of regular normally yearly and eventdriven arrangements, are as follows Management of computer hardware maintenance gold technical support contracts on DellHP computers and servers Management of the existing audiovideo AV maintenance contract with the suppliers of the CDF Design Wall Barco and supporting AV infrastructure AVEX. Timely renewal of existing contracts, advise on correct maintenance level on all new procurements, obtaining advantageous prices and rates whenever possible. Maintain software maintenance contracts. Profile At least five years of experience in an IT support environment for a mediumlarge organization. Previous Experience with technologies of the CDF IT infrastructure listed above. Previous Experience with HWSW and AudioVideo infrastructure maintenance including procurement activities. Team worker with a customer oriented attitude. Fluent in English. ITIL certification or knowledge will be considered an advantage.
