This is a opportunity for an experienced Engineer to coordinate the Ground Segment level test and simulations activities leading to the declaration of the operational readiness. The development of the MOC and SOC will be carried out separately, under the responsibility of a local MOC and SOC development managers. The GS Test Coordinator has a natural interface to the Flight Director, who will have to declare the readiness of the GS. The Ground Segment Test Coordinator reports to the Ground Segment Manager. This position shall be initially located in Geneva for 1 to 1.5 years, following this the position moves to Madrid. The position is unlimited and full time. The position should start 1st of November or earlier and submission deadline for interested candidates is 18th of September. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES The Ground Segment Test Coordinator has the following main responsibilities Producing and maintaining the GS Test Plan in close collaboration with the GS actors Producing and maintaining the GS Test Specifications with input from the participating GS actors Producing the GS test reports based on input provided by the participating GS actors Providing the Test and Science Operations Simulations related input for the GS schedule to the GS Manager Preparing and participating to the Test Readiness Reviews TRR and the Test Review Boards TRB and producing the corresponding reports with input provided by the participating GS actors Preparing and participating to regular progress meetings of the GSITT as teleconferences or facetoface meetings and producing the corresponding minutes Producing and maintaining the Science Operations Simulations Plan Producing and maintaining the Science Operations Simulations Schedule Leading the Science Operations Simulations Monitoring the MOC, SOC and satellite development and validation activities with a focus on validation related activities Providing input to the spacecraft contractor for the production and maintenance of the IOC Simulations Plan Providing input to the spacecraft contractor for the production and maintenance of the IOCLEOP Simulations Schedule Support the spacecraft contractor in the execution of the IOCLEOP Simulations Contributing to the preparation and execution of ESA GS reviews Ensuring that the test and validation activities for the complete Ground Segment for all its configurations are performed properly and in time. This shall include all GS test, simulation, verification, and validation activities. This includes in particular the validation in coordination with the spacecraft contractor of the LEOP configuration with the respective high availability requirements. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE University degree or equivalent education in Electric or Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering More than 5 years of demonstrated experience working in integrationverification of large, distributed ground segments Experience in satellite operations ground segment operations Experience in integration and validation of heterogeneous systems ESSENTIAL SKILLS Fluency in English, both in speech and writing, with excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills Selfmotivation, ability to work in international teams distributed throughout Europe ESSENTIAL SKILLS Experience in project management of internal teams Spanish language BENEFITS Competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package including 30 days holiday, generous training possibilities and Telespazio VEGA Deutschland pension scheme is offered to the successful candidate.
