Mongabay: Carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels use hit a record in 2012, according to a new report from the International Energy Agency (IEA). CO2 emissions rose 1.4 percent to 31.6 billion metric tons. With its emissions rising 300 million tons, or 3.8 percent, China became the first country to reach 10 billion metric tons of emissions in a single year.
