CSX has got off to a bad start this year and the weakness will continue due to persistent sluggishness in the coal segment that accounts for 20% of revenue. A decline in coal production and exports this year will create more pressure on coal volumes, which is not surprising as low gas prices are encouraging coal-to-gas switching.
