Steadier wholesale prices help underpin fed cattle and feeder prices. Feeder cattle prices remain strong and the expectation is for prices to remain strong throughout the year due to reduced supply available to enter the feedlot as more and more producers are retaining heifers to grow the herd size, Griffith explains.
