Peak lobby group, CANEGROWERS, says it accepts Mackay Sugar's decision to sign with Brazilian giant, Copersucar, but is confident the 80 per cent of raw sugar remaining in the pool - including more than two million tonnes owned by growers - gives QSL the "critical mass" it needs.
