Car sales stall in June as drivers wait for 152-plate

Car sales are expected to soar over the next few weeks as more than 20,000 motorists are forecast to invest in a new car with a 152-plate Sales of new cars fell last month as buyers kept their powder dry for the new 152-plate, latest official figures show. But sales for the year to date are still 25pc up for the first six months of the year, the Society of the Irish Motor Industry statistics says.
