US gas giant Chevron has moved to reduce its exposure to weak LNG spot prices by signing a deal to sell gas from its Australian projects to China Huadian Green Energy Co. The deal is for up to 1 million tonnes a year of LNG for 10 years starting in 2020, with LNG likely to be supplied from the huge Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG projects, which are nearing completion of construction in Western Australia.
