Longtime County Coroner Andy Harmon tendered his resignation to the county and the board voted to delete the position of Department of Environmental Quality officer currently held by Lamon Griggs. In tendering his resignation, Harmon said he was applying for retirement after 29 years with the county as deputy and coroner and it would be effective Dec. 31. Harmon unsuccessfully ran for Sheriff this year and did not seek the post of Coroner.
