BusinessGreen: Official Chinese government figures from the National Energy Administration have confirmed electricity generation from wind farms leapt 41 per cent last year to 100.8 billion kilowatt hours.
Installed grid-connected wind energy capacity also rose 31 per cent year-on-year to 62.7GW, suggesting that either turbine efficiency has improved or 2012 saw stronger winds than 2011.
